Group Discussion > Large Botryoidal Jade Stones

Hello All,

Nice to finally ask a question on our site, as I have been infrequently perusing the site for about a year now. I sometimes wonder if its still live, as articles are updated infrequently. There are a few of us Jade junkies up here in Washington state. I count 7 now that I know of in Washington area that hunt Jade. Each of us seems to have a different angle on our Jade. A recent interest of mine spawned by other Jade hunters is botryoidal Jade. My hunting of Washington Rivers and creeks personally I know of one primary source for the type with the pea sized bubbles, all the way up to several inch in diameter spheres clumped together, and a second river known to have good stuff I have never explored.

On a recent hunt, I found a several hundred pound oddly shaped Botryoidial Jade, and another that I assume is 90 to 110 pounds that is more worn on the large bubbles, and having serpentine covering the majority in between the bubbles.

How would I value the Botryoidal stones? I see insane prices on smaller ones. Are the larger ones equally valuable?

Thanks,

Aaron
